Yes, I know nowadays there is many this kind of systems and mine is not trying to be competitive with others. Designing this system, I wasn’t thinking as an engineer, I was thinking as a user. This system is designed not to be a fancy gadget but to be useful and invisible.

It integrates basic services like lighting, heating/cooling, boiler rooms, irrigation, blinds, security. Devices communicate via CAN bus. There is no central unit. Thank to this we avoid a risk that in case of the central unit/computer fault whole system could stop working. None this kind of risk. All nodes are independent are exchange information directly between them.

This device can work as an extension of an existing Nurse System or as standalone. I designed this because of a lack of easy-to-use Nurse Call Systems. Many existing systems require installing a lot of complicated hardware. It is used widely in age care facilities.

It has digital inputs/outputs to connect call points, digital outputs to connect Over Door Lights, Ethernet port to integrate with displays/event loggers. Powered up by ethernet (PoE). It’s easy to configure via a built-in web server. It includes an Implemented Dementia Controller feature. Uses TCP, UDP, PoE, Web server, Annunciator interfaces.

Idea of this device came when I witnessed a problem with integration of health monitoring systems with Nurse Call system. A that time I saw big computer engaged to receive data via RS232 and then replace some values which were sent as TAP over TCP. Why does such a big computer do such an easy job?

I decided to design simple device doing exactly the same and more. More because there are 4 ports: Ethernet, 2xRS232, 1xRS485. Each of them can be set up as an input or output. Messages can be manipulated many ways. Up to 16 lookup tables. All interfaces separated electrically due to connection to different systems. Dedicated software was designed to make configuration and monitor live traffic. Recently patented and use widely to integrate systems like: Fire, Nurse Call, Security etc.

This product was designed due to discontinuation of supply of a similar product from another manufacturer.

It does accept all protocols than the discontinued one plus other very popular ones like TAP. It can accept multiple TAPs via TCP inputs at the same time which is a unique feature on the market. Easy configuration via build in web server. All messages are processed and converted to POCSAG format which is a standard in Paging.
